Admissions Timeline

Admissions Process for 2012-2013 School Year

Please note that tuition assistance for 2012-2013 has been awarded.

We are honored that you are considering Abintra Montessori School for your child and your family!

The following steps outline our admissions process:

1.     Application

Applications are accepted year round.  Students may be enrolled mid-year if spaces are available.  We will send you an email confirmation when we receive your admission application and $75 non-refundable application fee. A completed application and application fee must be submitted before proceeding with the admission process.

2.     Admissions Questionnaire

We are very interested in learning more about your child, your parenting philosophies, and your opinions on what constitutes an appropriate education for your child. Please note that we must receive your Admissions Questionnaire before we can schedule your child's student visit.

3.     Teacher Recommendation

The teacher recommendation is an important tool in learning more about your child's abilities and interests. If your child is currently enrolled in a school or child care program, please take the "Teacher Recommendation" form to your child's teacher. After completion, the school should mail the form directly to Abintra. (Elementary/Middle School Teacher Recommentation; Early Childhood Teacher Recommentation)

4.     Student Visit

Early Childhood - Student visits are held on weekdays from 3:30-4:00 p.m. During this visit, small groups of four to six children work with a variety of puzzles and Montessori materials in the company of our faculty. This visit offers you a chance to see your child work in the context of a Montessori classroom, provides insight into your child's readiness to enter our early childhood program, and is fun for all involved! Please contact our admissions office to schedule this appointment.

Elementary and Middle School - Candidates for elementary and middle school will join the classroom for a half-day, 8:30 a.m -12:30 p.m. Your child will work with a mentor student during the morning work cycle and enjoy some social time with the class during lunch. Please contact our admissions office to schedule this appointment.

5.     In-House Assessment (elementary and middle school only)

During your child's visit, a member of our faculty will administer a brief, 30-minute assessment to determine your child's present level of academic performance. This tool gives us insight into your child's learning needs as well as the most appropriate classroom placement.

6.     School Records

Please print and complete the "Request for Records" form and submit it to your child's current school. The school will forward your child's transcript directly to Abintra.

Admission Decisions for 2012-2013

All aspects of the admissions process must be completed to be considered for enrollment. Considerations for enrollment include date of application and a classroom balance of age, gender, and developmental profile.

We truly appreciate your time and consideration of our admissions process. We take the education of your child very seriously and want everyone involved to have full confidence that Abintra is the best educational option for your child and your family.

Should you have any questions regarding Abintra's admissions process, please contact our Admissions Coordinator, Laura Lloyd, at (615) 352-4317 or laura.lloyd@abintra.org. We hope to see you on campus soon!
